Where AskSami's signups come from

A source is the site that sent the visit, read from the address tags or the referrer of the first page of that visit; "direct" when nothing sent it; and a shared chat link when the first page was a shared chat that nothing sent the visitor to, since the link was a source AskSami knew. On a paid plan means the account finished the checkout on one of the three paid plans. Signing up, the honest read and the ranked plan cost nothing, so this is where paying starts. A launch code that makes the first invoice $0 counts, because the account goes on the plan the same way.

What has been spent

Nothing has been spent on marketing AskSami so far: no ads, no paid listing, no sponsorship. The founder's time is not counted here. This line changes the day money is spent, and the amount goes beside the signups it brought.

How each signup is counted

• First touch, once. The account keeps the first page of the first visit: the address tags, the page that sent the visitor there, the page they landed on, and the shared chat if they came in through one. It is written when the account is made and never changed.
• One cookie, written once. The first page a browser loads writes the touch into one first party cookie (sami_first, kept for a year; the privacy page says what it holds), and nothing writes it again, so a visit that comes back days later by typing the address in still counts for the page that first brought it. It also travels in the address from page to page. When both are lost on the way, the source is recorded as not recorded, never guessed.
• Money beside the signups. Paid is the account checking out on a plan, read from the same record that puts the account on its plan. Nothing is counted from a payment provider or a spreadsheet.
• An account that is deleted leaves the count. When a person deletes their account, its row goes with it, so a month can show fewer signups later than it did at the time.
• The founder's own accounts. one account the founder uses to test AskSami is left out of every figure on this page.

Why this page exists

AskSami asks every founder to count signups and payments by where each one came from, with the cost beside them, and to judge a channel on that record rather than on a feeling. This page is AskSami doing the same to itself, in public. The numbers are small, they are dated, and they will not be rounded. Getting named by ChatGPT is the method the pages here follow, and this page is where its result will show.
